Hailed as being “on a par with many professional choirs”, Harpenden’s Lea Singers along with St George’s Chamber Orchestra are coming to Boxmoor to perform some of the finest and most emotive music ever written. The St John Passion leads the audience through the very human side of the Easter story. Born in Hertford and now singing with I Fagiolini and English Touring Opera, Nicholas Hurndall Smith, returns to Hertfordshire to sing the role of the Evangelist, leading a very strong cast of young professional soloists. At 24, Katherine Broderick, is one of the youngest first-prize winners of the annual Kathleen Ferrier Awards, which she won with the prestigious GSMD Gold Medal in 2007.
“Broderick stands out [with] a dramatic presence that makes her consistently watchable” Andrew Clements, The Guardian 4 April 2005
